Moose

The Maine Moose has been a consumable product ever since man discovered the animal. When human first discovered the Moose they did not only use the meat for food but they also used the fur and hide to make clothing, rugs, and blankets. Even today we still use the moose as food, decorations, and for warmth. Originally we harvested moose because there was so many of them and we needed them for food. Now, because of the rising tick population. we harvest moose not only for food but because if we did not there will be more ticks and also there will be an overpopulation of moose. There will also be much more nuisance moose. I predict that the future of the moose looks bad, the moose herd will go down because of winter ticks and the warm winters are killing off moose. Also there are plenty of poachers who do not follow the rules of moose hunting and slowly kill of the moose herd. The way we try to reduce human impact with the moose is through the moose lottery. Permits are drawn based on moose population, more moose more permits.
